In her past career she was Executive Director-Global Product Area at Amgen, Inc., Vice President-Clinical Development at Xencor, Inc. and Associate Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles.

She received an undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University and a doctorate from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
