Founder of 6 different companies, notably: Infosys Ltd., Avanseus Holdings Pte Ltd. and Avanti Finance Pvt Ltd. Nandan M. Nilekani and holds the position of Non-Executive Chairman for Infosys Ltd.

He is also on the board of Avanti Finance Pvt Ltd. and Chairman for EkStep Foundation (he founded the company).

In his past career he held the position of Co-Chairman, President & Chief Executive Officer at Infosys Ltd. (he founded the company in 1981) and Chairman at Unique Identification Authority of India (he founded the company).

He received an undergraduate degree from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
