Wai Cheung Tong

Wai Cheung Tong is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Amtd Foundation.
He is also the Co-Chairman at AMTD Digital, Inc. and the Chairman at Hong Kong Laureate Forum.
Additionally, he holds positions as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Gold Peak Technology Group Ltd., GP Industries Ltd., Freetech Road Recycling Technology (Holdings) Ltd., AMTD IDEA Group, Airstar Bank Ltd., Gravitation Fintech HK Ltd., and Applaud Digital Solutions Pte Ltd.
He is a Member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the Political Consultative Conference.
In his former roles, he served as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Xiaomi Corp.
from 2019 to 2024.
He was also the President of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University from 2009 to 2018 and the Dean of the School of Engineering & Applied Science at George Washington University.
Dr. Tong received his undergraduate degree from Oregon State University in 1976 and his graduate and doctorate degrees from the University of California, Berkeley.
