Andrés Alonso

Andrés Alonso is currently the Chief Executive Officer & Trustee at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Chief Executive Officer at Andres A Alonso LLC.

Grant Foundation, Inc., the Data Quality Campaign, and the Panasonic Foundation, Inc.Dr. Alonso's former positions include being the Chief Executive Officer of the Baltimore City Public School Systems from 2007 to 2013.
He also served as the Co-Chairman-Education Leadership Project at Harvard University, the Director at the National Center on Education & The Economy, and a Trustee at Teachers College (New York).
Additionally, he was the Chief of Staff-Teaching & Learning at The New York City Department of Education from 2003 to 2006 and a Professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Education from 2013 to 2018.
He also held a position as a Principal at the National Assessment Governing Board.
Dr. Alonso's education includes an undergraduate degree from The Trustees of Columbia University in The City of New York, a doctorate degree from Harvard University (conferred in 2006), and a graduate degree from Harvard Law School (conferred in 1984).
