BTG is a regional private equity and venture capital investment manager. The firm invests in small and medium-sized companies across sectors, as well as in innovative technology-oriented businesses. They invest exclusively in Hamburg and the surrounding region. They focus on the information technology and new media industries, and also invest in a variety of traditional sectors in industry, manufacturing and trade. BTG invests in the form of direct equity or as a silent partner, avoids interfering in operations management, and provides consulting support to their portfolio companies. They invest EUR 100 to 500 thousand and acquire minority interests. They provide capital to finance product development in the case of early-stage businesses, and market introduction in the case of later-stage companies. They generally do not provide seed financing. BTG's subsidiary MAZ Level One GmbH specializes in financing early-stage technology projects, and manages a seed fund.
