David Ratcliffe

David Moore Ratcliffe is currently the Chairman of Georgia Research Alliance, Inc. He is also a Director at Truist Bank, GRA Venture Fund LLC, Urjanet, Inc., Institute of Nuclear Power Operations, Inc., Truist, Inc., GRA Venture, National Foundation for the Center for Disease Control, and a Member of the State Bar of Georgia.
In his former positions, Ratcliffe served as the President & Chief Executive Officer of Georgia Power Co. from 1999 to 2004.
He then became the Chairman, President & Chief Executive Officer of The Southern Co. from 2004 to 2010.
Ratcliffe also served as the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta from 2004 to 2006.
He was the Chairman of Edison Electric Institute, Inc. and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce in 2006.
Ratcliffe was also the Chairman of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.
He served as an Independent Director at CSX Corp.
from 2003 to 2017 and held director positions at Alabama Power Co., CSX Transportation, Inc., SunTrust Banks, Inc., Southern Power Co., Nuclear Energy Institute, and National Center For Civil & Human Rights, Inc. Ratcliffe is currently an Independent Director at Truist Financial Corp.
until 2023.
He is also a Trustee at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Inc. and The Woodruff Arts Center.
Ratcliffe obtained his undergraduate degree from Valdosta State University in 1970.
