Gavin Hirst

Gavin Hirst is Vice President of Chemistry for Mpex Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Prior to joining Mpex in January 2009, he was the Senior Director of Chemistry at SGX Pharmaceuticals and a Medicinal Chemist at Glaxo organization.
Previously, Dr. Hirst held various management and project responsibility positions at Abbott Bioresearch Center.
He has 19 years experience in medicinal chemistry research and the development of pharmaceutical products across multiple therapeutic areas and gene families.
Dr. Hirst received a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the Southampton University in the UK and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California at Irvine.
