FEP is an active, long-term manager which focuses on investing in established high-growth medium-sized companies in North America and Europe with meaningful competitive advantage through the innovative use of information and systems. They focus on service-based companies in a range of sectors including business, financial, consumer, healthcare services, information, software and communication systems. The firm selectively invests in companies valued at USD 50-150 million with annual organic growth of more than 10% in which they believe they can accelerate growth by providing additional capital, applying their expertise and leveraging their international network as a conduit to new business. Their unique source of capital gives them the flexibility to support companies in many different situations, adapting their investment approach according to what will work best for the investee company. FEP primarily takes majority stakes in private companies, but also takes minority positions to provide growth capital to take public companies private. They typically use third-party debt to fund a portion of their investments, but will use an all-equity structure if it is more appropriate. The firm partners with their investee companies, providing support including developing the management team, refining strategic planning, commercializing new products and services, developing new markets, expanding operations internationally, exploiting information and communications systems and identifying and executing acquisitions.
