James Chew

James is Group Head, Regulatory Strategy in Group Public Affairs at HSBC Holdings plc.
He considers key regulatory and public policy developments which will affect the HSBC Group across the world.
Since joining the HSBC Group in 1993, James worked on a number of joint ventures and was previously Deputy Head of Strategy and Group Head of Acquisitions and Disposals.
James was the interim CEO responsible for the establishment of the Business Growth Fund.
More recently, he served on the EU’s High Level Forum for Capital Markets Union.
He has a degree in Geography from Oxford, and an MBA from the Bayes Business School, London, where he is also an Honorary Visiting Professor.
