Japheth Katto

Japheth Katto is currently the Chairman at Uganda Breweries Ltd., Duke of Edinberghs Uganda, National Financial Literacy Foundation, Inc., International Valuation Standards Council, and a Member at the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda.
Previously, he served as the Chief Executive Officer at The Capital Markets Authority (Uganda) from 1998 to 2013.
He was also the Chairman at East African Securities Regulatory Authorities and Stanbic Bank Holdings Ltd. Additionally, he held the position of Non-Executive Chairman at Stanbic Uganda Holdings Ltd. from 2014 to 2023.
Mr. Katto has also worked as a Director at the International Federation of Accountants and as an Independent Non-Executive Director at East African Breweries Ltd. He has served as a Director at Junior Achievement Uganda and as a Council Member at the African Peer Review Mechanism.
Furthermore, he is a Trustee at the Duke of Edinburghs International Award.
Mr. Katto is a Member-Global Council at the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Member at the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (Kenya).
He obtained his undergraduate degree from Makerere University in 1975.
