Jason Doren

As General Counsel of SVB Capital, Jason Doren has primary responsibility for all legal matters related to SVB Capital and its family of funds.
SVB Capital is the funds management division of SVB Financial Group and manages approximately $1.5B on behalf of third-party institutional investors.
Mr. Doren is also Assistant General Counsel of SVB Financial Group where he has responsibility for strategic investments, and legal, regulatory and government affairs matters related to SVB Financial Group’s venture capital and entrepreneur services businesses.
Mr. Doren has over 17 years of legal and venture capital industry experience.
Prior to joining SVB in 2006, Mr. Doren spent more than seven years with Cooley Godward Kronish LLP where he represented venture capital funds and venture capital–backed companies as an outside general counsel and taught seminars on venture capital financings.
Prior to Cooley, Mr. Doren was an attorney with Bronson, Bronson & McKinnon LLP in San Francisco, where he specialized in the resolution of business disputes and related litigation.
Mr. Doren earned his law degree in 1994 from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law.
He also holds a bachelor of science degree in finance, summa cum laude, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
