Jim Millar

In addition to his role at Battelle, Mr. Millar also co-founded Early Stage Enterprises in 1996.
He has been involved in venture capital since 1984, when he joined Philadelphia Ventures.
He then spent 12 years with DSV Partners, where, as general partner, he led early-stage investments in the software and communications fields.
He has served as chairman and president of the Greater Philadelphia Venture Group, was co-chairman of the Mid-Atlantic Venture Fair, and frequently lectures at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Princeton University.
Mr. Millar also is a past director of the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.
As a co-founding partner of Early Stage Enterprises, L.P.
he currently sits on the boards of directors of Aleri, Inc; Application Security, Inc.; Broadbeam Corp.; Enablx, Inc.; and HTH Worldwide.
Prior to entering the venture-capital industry, Mr. Millar held a number of engineering and management positions at Texas Instruments (TI), including systems engineer, designing VLSI microcomputers and digital signal processing components.
His last position at TI was manager of the companys six domestic regional technology centers.
Mr. Millar received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Applied Science from Yale University and his MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
