John Clarke

John has over 40 years’ experience across both the financial and investment markets, and has a strong track record of successfully acquiring and managing infrastructure investments.
John formed ICG as a joint venture with ANZ in November 2000 (then called ANZ Infrastructure Services (ANZIS), before John and Mike Fitzpatrick acquired ANZ’s shareholding in August 2009.
Prior to that John was Managing Director of Morrison & Co (Australia) Pty Limited when it managed Infratil Australia Limited.
John was CFO and Manager of M&A of Power New Zealand where he led the listing of the firm on the NZX, and acting CEO of BellSouth New Zealand where he reset the business plan and proved instrumental in its profitable sale to Vodafone.
In 1997, John joined HRL Morrison & Co Australia, as Managing Director and CEO of Infratil Australia Ltd, a listed infrastructure investment company with investments in Perth, Alice Springs and Darwin airports, Port of Portland, Southern Hydro Partnership and State West Power.
John stepped down as ICG’s Managing Director in October 2014, but remains on the Board as an executive director and as a part-time executive on a three-year contract involved in capital raising and special projects.
