Matt Lawson

Mr. Lawson is chair and immediate past president of the Orange County Venture Group, co-chairs the Capital Network Committee of the Tech Coast Angels as well as the Advisory Board of the Laguna Art Museum and serves on the Steering Committee of the Orange County Technology Action Network.
Mr. Lawson was previously Senior Vice President of London-based NatWest Markets, the global investment banking arm of National Westminster Bank P.L.C., at that time one of the world’s largest financial institutions.
Prior to joining NatWest, he managed a number of corporate functions, including strategic planning, investor relations and public affairs, for El Segundo-based Computer Sciences Corporation, then the world’s largest independent IT systems integration company, and subsequently, Gould Inc., then a multi-billion dollar NYSE-listed electronics company based in suburban Chicago.
Previously, Mr. Lawson had been an executive with Mazda Motors of America, where he played a key role in launching the sale of rotary-engine vehicles throughout the U.S.
and worked in various account management capacities at Foote, Cone & Belding Advertising.
He also served as Deputy Press Secretary to Ronald Reagan during the 1976 and 1980 presidential campaigns.
Mr. Lawson received an A.B. from Hamilton College (Clinton, NY) and an M.B.A., with honors, from the University of Chicago.
