Matt Young

Prior to joining Cherokee in 2004, Mr. Young was the Chief Strategic Officer of AwayMed, Inc., a health care information technology company in Raleigh.
His primary responsibilities at AwayMed included raising equity capital and directing the development and maintenance of the company’s strategic relationships.
Mr. Young began his career as a professional speaker for The Advisory Board Company, a health care consulting firm, in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Young received a BA with distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
Additionally, Mr. Young received an MBA and a JD from the University of Virginia.
While at UVA, he received the Darden Business School’s Faculty Award for Academic Excellence and was elected to Virginia’s Raven Society.
Mr. Young is a member of the North Carolina bar.
