DPEP's investment strategy seeks to identify and finance fast-growing firms in Russia. They look for companies with strong and progressive management teams with the capability of achieving market leadership and generating competitive long-term returns on invested capital. The funds under DPEP's management provide equity and equity-related debt financing to small and medium-sized high-growth companies operating in such sectors as financial services, consumer goods, media, telecom, technology and other, mainly consumer-oriented, sectors. They do not invest in natural resource industries and privatizations. Among investment selection criteria DPEP evaluates are proficient, experienced and entrepreneurial management teams, business concepts with a clear vision, a solid strategy, and a robust business plan. They also consider aspects such as market leadership with competitive edge in a large and growing market, proprietary or distinctive technology or capabilities addressing unmet or underdeveloped demand, significant potential for revenue and profit growth, financial transparency and adherence to internationally-accepted principles of corporate governance, potential for superior returns on invested capital, and clear exit strategies for realizing returns.
