Pedro E. Wasmer

Mr. Pedro E.
Wasmer is on the Board of Directors at University of Maryland and The University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation, Inc. In 1980 Mr. Wasmer formed his first equipment-leasing firm, Somerset Investment Services, which was acquired in 1985 by Goldome, FSB, a Buffalo, N.Y.

In 1988 Mr. Wasmer resigned from Goldome, FSB and in 1989 formed St. James Leasing, Ltd., which he named after his hometown of Santiago in Cuba.
In 1996 Mr. Wasmer formed Somerset Capital Group, Ltd., to manage assets, conduct marketing and oversee functions of both St. James Leasing, Ltd. and Somerset Investment Services, Ltd. Mr. Wasmer graduated from the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in 1958, and continued his studies at the University of Maryland, earning his bachelor of science in civil engineering in 1962.
He then completed a master's program in Latin American studies at American University in 1964.
Mr. Wasmer practiced civil engineering upon graduation until 1964 when he joined IBM and later Honeywell, becoming involved in the information technology industry.
In 1974 Mr. Wasmer joined DPF, Inc., a Fortune 500 lessor of high-technology equipment.
