Befesa is an international company specializing in the integral management of industrial wastes and the generation and management of water. They manage more than 2.5 Mt of industrial waste, allocating more than 1.2 Mt to the production of new materials through recycling; these activities prevent the emission of more than 1 Mt of CO2 per year. They have the capacity to desalinate more than 1Mm3 of water per day, equivalent to supplying 5 M people. Befesa provides solutions for managing industrial wastes, and managing and generating water, while taking into account its social responsibility to contribute to creating a sustainable world. Befesa, the environmental services subsidiary of Abengoa, is organized around four business units: Aluminum Waste Recycling, Steel and Galvanization Waste Recycling, Industrial Waste Management and Water. Its services include management and recycling of steel dusts from electric arc furnaces, management and recycling of stainless and special steel dusts, recovery of zinc, and integral recycling of salt slags, SPLs, filters dusts, and milling residues. The company was founded on September 9, 1993 and is headquartered in Seville, Spain.
