Bob Mellen has spent over 25 years in the Medical Device Industry in marketing, general management and senior business development roles.
After gaining sales, marketing and start up experience at Ohmeda and Stericycle, Bob joined C.
R.
Bard in 1993, where he led the marketing teams at the Gynecology/Radiology and Access Systems Divisions.
He then spent five years leading the Peripheral Technologies/Peripheral Vascular Division as General Manager and President, followed by ten years as Bard’s Corporate Vice President, Strategic Planning and Business Development.
During Bob’s term leading Bard’s Peripheral Vascular business and for multiple years afterwards, sales grew at a consistent double-digit rate.
In his corporate role, Bob led the creation and operation of Bard’s company-wide business development activities, generating more than $850M in new revenue to the corporation from over 70 transactions.
Bob earned a BA in Biology from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
As a Venture Partner at Aphelion he evaluates investment opportunities and serves as a Director for NeurOptics and Colabs Medical.
