Copper River attempts to gain profits from shorting shares of companies believed to be engaging in fraudulent actions. They emphasize fundamental analysis with particular attention to balance sheets and cash flow. The firm uses options and futures to hedge. Leverage is not used. A catalyst for change must be identified before the managers take a position. Copper River tends to invest in small-cap US companies in the technology services, consumer durables and retail sectors.
