Tom Smith

Tom Smith is a Principal with Baird Capital.
Based in Chicago, he leads the U.S.
Portfolio Operations team and engages with both investment and management teams to drive value in our portfolio companies.
Tom’s main responsibilities include due diligence execution, lender management, board financial reporting/oversight and governance.
Tom sits on the Global Valuation Committee, chairs the new transaction assessment for U.S.
investments and currently represents Baird Capital on the board of directors of ReMed.
Prior to joining Baird Capital in 2012, Tom spent six years in KPMG’s Transaction Services department providing financial due diligence services for both private equity and strategic clients.
He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with dual bachelor’s degrees in finance and accounting.
