Vassilios Papathanakos

Dr. Vassilios Papathanakos is a Distinguished Researcher at Intech Investment Management LLC.
Dr. Papathanakos’ primary focus is on tangential, blue-sky research projects.
The value of this research is to drive innovative thought beyond Intech’s standard research agenda.
He also supports research initiatives for the existing investment platform as necessary.
He was named deputy chief investment officer of Intech in November 2012 and executive vice president, deputy chief investment officer in 2014.
Prior to that, he was the firm’s director of research, based in Princeton, NJ.
As deputy Chief Investment Officer, he is jointly responsible, for the day-to-day implementation of investment process and trading operations.
He has over 136years of industry experience.
Dr. Papathanakos received his Ph.D.
in Physics from Princeton University in November 2006 and earned a B.S.
in Physics from the University of Ioannina, Greece, in July 2001.
