Johnny Danos

Mr. Danos has been President of the Greater Des Moines Foundation, a community development and betterment organization, since 1998.
Prior to joining the foundation, Mr. Danos was with national accounting firm Peat Marwick, working in that firm's New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Brussels, Belgium offices, before coming to Des Moines and eventually serving as the office's Managing Partner for 12 years.
Under his leadership, Peat Marwick became the largest and most recognized accounting practice in Des Moines.
Well respected throughout Iowa for his business leadership skills, Mr. Danos is also very active in local, civic and philanthropic activities, serving on the boards of Orchard Place, Civic Center, Dowling Foundation, Greater Des Moines Community Foundation, Boy Scouts, Greater Des Moines Committee, Operation Santa Claus, 5th Judicial District Advisory Committee, and the Higher Education Center Advisory Committee.
During his professional career, Mr. Danos has received numerous awards and recognitions, including NCCJ Honoree, Alexis de Tocqueville Award, and the Iowa Society of CPAs Civic Achievement Award.
Mr. Danos served in the U.S.
Army where he reached the rank of Captain (Reserves).
He obtained his BBA from Loyola of the South, New Orleans.
