Paul Slocombe

Teesside Pension Fund (TPF) is the pension fund subsidiary of Middlesbrough Council (Investment Management), itself a division of Middlesbrough Council in Great Britain. The day-to-day running of the Teesside Pension Fund is delegated to the Director of Resources of Middlesbrough Council, who implements the strategies and policies set by the Pensions and Investment Panel. The Loans and Investment Unit manages the investment of the Fund in conjunction with the advice of the Fund's external investment advisors. TPS is a socially responsible manager which aims to promote corporate social responsibility, good practice and improved company performance among all companies in which they invest. They monitor investee companies to ensure they meet standards of best practice in relation to their key stakeholders, believing that this aligns the interests of Fund members and beneficiaries with those of society as a whole. They consider climate change risks and opportunities in the investment process and engage with companies to ensure that they are minimizing the risks and maximizing the opportunities presented by climate change and climate policy. They have adopted the Institutional Shareholders’ Committee Statement of Principles and periodically review its implementation.
