Ms. Christine Mayrhuber is a Senior Economist at Österreichisches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung.
She has been working in the Research Group “Labor Market, Income and Social Security” since 1999.
Her research focuses on questions of income development and income distribution from a gender perspective, as well as redistributive effects of welfare state structures, and the new conditions in which social security mechanisms can take place on digital labor markets.
Her projects within the Joint Programming Initiative “More Years, Better Lives” and for the European Parliament cover both comparisons of different welfare state structures and developments over time.
In addition to being a long-standing member of the Commission for Long-term Pension Security in Austria, she has designed and organized the annual conference on welfare state questions.
Christine Mayrhuber is Käthe Leichter Prize Winner in 2013.
She worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna before joining WIFO.
She studied economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
