Prior to joining BCM, Mr. Katz was the founder and Managing Member of Castlerock Investments LLC, a commercial real estate investment firm based in New Jersey.
Prior to forming Castlerock, Mr. Katz was a Managing Director at Sandler O’Neill and Partners, L.P.
in the mortgage finance department providing mortgage backed securities structuring and mortgage company investment banking advice to banks and thrifts.
Prior to moving to New York in 1994, Mr. Katz was Vice President of Secondary Marketing and Counsel at National Mortgage Company, a Memphis, Tennessee-based, privately held mortgage company sold in 1995 and as a result of two successive mergers, is today part of Bank of America.
Prior to working at National Mortgage Company, Mr. Katz was a partner at Glankler Brown, PLLC, a Memphis-based law firm.
While at Glankler Brown, Mr. Katz concentrated his practice in the areas of banking, real estate, real estate finance, mortgage banking law, commercial lending and mortgage backed securities.
Mr. Katz received a J.D.
from the University of Memphis School of Law in 1980 and a B.A.
in Political Science from New York University in 1977.
Mr. Katz is licensed to practice law in New York and Tennessee.
