Michael Begun

Mr. Michael Begun is a co-founder of CM Capital and he has established himself as one of the leading IT & Telecommunications private equity investors in Australia.
He has over 25 years experience in the telecommunications arena in both the US and Australian commercial markets.
In his career Mr. Begun experienced the convergence of the telecommunications and computer industries through his participation in the development of strategic technologies in both industries.
He participated as a network architect in the development of the Ethernet standard.
In 1981 Mr. Begun co-founded Technology Concepts Inc. In 1985 this company built the first full implementation Signalling System No.
7 for use in the Intelligent Network deployed by Regional Bell Operating Companies throughout the U.S.
The Company was acquired by Bell Atlantic in 1986.
After the acquisition Michael worked on business development transactions for Bell Atlantic International in the Asia Pacific Region.
This led him to become the founding CEO of Pacific Star, a JV between Bell Atlantic and Telecom NZ.
Under Mr. Begun's stewardship the company grew to annual revenues of $250m in 3 years.
