Susan Gao

Ms. Susan Gao is Head of China Consulting.
at CRU International Co. Ltd.
She joined as a founding member of CRU’s Beijing office in 2004, when she was responsible for the China Base Metals research team.
She returns to CRU as Head of CRU Consulting, China in 2016.
Ms. Gao previously worked with some of the world’s leading mining and trading companies, including Rio Tinto and Mitsui, where she marketed and traded various commodities in China.
She had also been responsible for making and executing key strategic investment and development decisions in China.
Ms. Gao developed her professional financial career in the US firstly with Jefferies as an investment banker, working on energy and shipping related IPO and M&A deals.
She then worked for Blenheim Capital Management, a major NYC-based global macro hedge fund from 2007 to 2016.
Susan Gao holds a Master from Columbia University in New York, USA. She is a fluent Chinese, English and Japanese speaker.
