They are a subsidiary of Nuveen Finance LLC, ultimately owned by TIAA Board of Governors. TAL provides services to individual and institutional separately managed account clients primarily through investment advisory programs such as wrap-fee and dual contract arrangements, and Exchange Traded Funds. On occasion, the firm provides portfolio recommendations to sponsors of unit investment trusts which are sold by the sponsor through broker-dealers and other firms.

Founded in 1984, Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management is a registered investment advisor located in San Diego, California. The firm is a subsidiary of Allianz of America, Inc., and their ultimate parent is Allianz AG (NYSE: AZ). Nicholas-Applegate manages assets for individual and institutional investors including corporate and government retirement plans, foundations, endowments and mutual fund families.
