Frederick Phillips

Mr. Phillips moved to Bermuda from South Africa in October 2003 when he joined PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Commercial Insurance/Reinsurance department.
After two years of working with the department, he was promoted to Audit Manager and remained with them right before he joined Nephila in October 2007.
Some of Mr. Phillips main responsibilities included the analysis of financial statements and complicated reinsurance contracts for correct accounting treatment according to GAAP as well as the review of internal control procedures for compliance and improvements.
His clients included mainly very large reinsurance companies that were listed and registered with the SEC.
He started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in South Africa and worked for the their offices in Welkom and Durban for a total of 3 years.
Prior to moving to Bermuda, Mr. Phillips obtained a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of the Freestate in 1999 and an Honors degree in Accounting from the University of South Africa in 2001.
He obtained his Chartered Accountant (SA) designation in 2003.
