Founded in 1999, they manage investment and investment-related activities for the Samsung Group. The parent firm, founded in 1938 and headquartered in Seoul, produces semiconductors, business communications systems, reciprocating and rotary compressors, optical and hard disc drives, LCD panels, set-top boxes, CC televisions, as well as fiber optics. In 2004, SVIC established Samsung Ventures America, their US-based venture capital arm.
