Virtanen is a Managing Director & Founding Partner at Midinvest Management Oy.
He is on the Board of Directors at Metitur Oy and Tikka Spikes Oy.
Mr. Virtanen is CEO and a founding partner of the company, and is responsible for fund raising, investor and public relations as well as operations.
He has played an important role in many of Midinvest's technology investments including Stresstech and WTS Oy.
He has specialized in venture capital transactions since the early 1990s.
Prior to founding Midinvest he worked as financing director at Jyväskylä Science Park (nowadays Technopolis Oyj), as managing director of Midinvest Oy, and as an economist for the Electricity and Electronics Industry Association (EEIA) of Finland (today part of the Technology Industry Association).
