Bill Heitin

Mr. William A.
Heitin is a Chief Executive Officer & President at Windrose Advisors LLC.
He is on the Board of Directors at Fitchburg State University Foundation, Inc. He currently manages all aspects of the firm’s investment and non-investment operations and focuses on private portfolio investments including real estate.
Previously, Mr. Heitin was founder, Chief Investment and Chief Financial Officer for Garnet Street Partners (GSP), a private family investment office.
At GSP, he built the investment and family office infrastructure, making all investment related decisions.
Prior to GSP, he served as a Managing Director at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Investment Management Company (MITIMCo), the fifth largest endowment in the world.
At the time of his departure, assets under management exceeded $14 billion.
As one of five Managing Directors he served on MITIMCo’s Internal Investment Committee, which evaluated and voted on all investments prior to implementation.
He also served as Secretary for the MITIMCo Board of Directors, where he managed all operational aspects of MITIMCo’s investments.
He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he served as a Senior Manager in the firm’s Audit and Business Assurance practice.
He holds a BS in Accounting from Fitchburg State University, an MBA in Finance from Suffolk University and a certificate from the MIT Leader to Leader program.
He is also a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
