Mr. Chris W.
Baldwin is Partner Emeritus at Charles River Ventures, Inc. He joined CRV in 1999 with years of start-up experience in the data communications and telecommunications industries.
Prior to CRV, Mr. Baldwin was vice president of marketing for Argon Networks, which was acquired by Siemens in 1999.
Before Argon, he spent three years at Cascade Communications as director of marketing where he developed and managed Cascade's $100+ million ATM switch business.
Prior to Cascade, he served in an ATM technology marketing capacity at Chipcom Corporation.
Earlier in his career, he designed three generations of fiber optic communications equipment at Digital Equipment Corporation; he also served as a member of Polaroid's technical research staff for the industry's first erbium-doped optical fiber amplifiers.
Mr. Baldwin received an AB with Honors in Electrical Engineering from Brown University and an MS in Optical Physics from the University of Rochester.
He is currently serves as a director of EqualLogic and InVisage Technologies.
He was previously a director of Pirus Networks, which was acquired by Sun Microsystems in 2002, and Conformative Systems, which was acquired by Intel Corporation in 2005.
