Xenith Bankshares, Inc. is a holding company, which engages in the provision of a broad selection of commercial and retail banking products. Its wholly owned subsidiary Xenith Bank engages in commercial banking specifically targeting banking needs of middle market and small businesses, local real estate developers and investors, and retail banking clients. The company was founded on February 28, 2001 and is headquartered in Richmond, VA.

The services include checking and savings accounts, commercial, installment and personal loans, safe deposit boxes and other associated services. The Group acts as an agent providing brokerage services for non-bank investment products and services. The Group operates through twenty-two offices eleven in Virginia: Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Norfolk and Emporia and eleven in North Carolina: Elizabeth City, Edenton, Kitty Hawk, Moyock, Nags Head, Plymouth, Roper and Raleigh, and a private banking center in Raleigh. On 01-Jun-07, it acquired The Bank of Richmond and on Jan 2007, Breen Title and Settlement Inc.
