Eckhard Weidner

Dr. Eckhard Weidner is Portfolio Manager & Research Analyst at HSBC Global Asset Management (UK) Ltd.
He has over 8 years experience in the investment industry.
He joined HSBC in January 2007 as a Research Analyst responsible for Global Emerging Market equity portfolios and research for the asset class with special research responsibility for Eastern Europe, Russia, Turkey and the Middle East.
Prior to joining HSBC, Dr. Weidner was a Chief Analyst for TELOS (formerly RCP) and his role included responsibility for all research activities and publications.
He started his career at Deutsche Bank as a trainee in their retail and private banking sector in Frankfurt, he went onto to become an analyst within the Performance Management team within Deutsche Bank and was responsible for strategic controlling of the balance scorecard and enhancements to the methodology and of the technical platform.
Dr. Weidner holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Trier, Germany and an MSc in Operational Research from the University of Southampton, UK.
He is also a Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA).
