Gerben Wanningen

Mr. Gerben Wanningen is Head of External Fixed Income & Currencies at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.
Previously, Mr. Wanningen was a Portfolio Manager at Aster-X Capital Management BV.
In 1998 he joined the International Bond Research Department of ABN Amro as a strategist.
In 1999 he joined the Philips Pension Fund (Eindhoven, the Netherlands) as a strategist.
At the end of 2000 he switched to the fixed income department within the Philips Pension Fund to be a portfolio manager (with a main focus on dollar block countries).
In 2001 he left the Philips Pension Fund to become the Fund Manager Fixed Income & Currencies for the Blue Sky Group (formerly known as the KLM Pension Funds, Amstelveen, the Netherlands).
His responsibilities ranged from strategic issues to tactical portfolio overlay as well as hiring and firing of external managers.
At the beginning of 2005 he left the Blue Sky Group to join Aster-X Capital Management BV.
He graduated from the University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands, 1998) with a Masters degree in Economics (Macro Economics).
