Under AMH's investment advisor registration, AREA continues to carry out its business through one or more affiliated investment managers. In July 2013, the firm was acquired by global alternative asset manager, Ares Management LLC. In December 2013, AREA Management Holdings LLC became known as Ares Real Estate Holdings LLC.
