Mr. d'Amours began his career in 1962 as a production engineer for Union Carbide.
In 1964, he became a shareholder and officer of a manufacturing company which was acquired in 1971 by the multinational Stanley Works Ltd., for whom he worked until 1979.
In 1979, Mr. d'Amours founded his own consulting firm offering strategic planning services.
In 1989, he joined MontRoyal Capital, one of the first venture capital firms based in Montreal.
Thereafter, he started up Capimont Investments which he has managed since 1993.
He has been Chairman of the Board of Capimont Technologies since 2001.
Mr. d'Amours sits on the board of directors of several technology companies, including Faro Technologies Inc. He holds a BA from the Université de Montreal, and a Diploma in Business Management from McGill University.
