Mr. Kayler joined Midwest in 1994 after six years of direct mezzanine investing experience at MNC Capital Corporation, which he formed in 1987 and where he was responsible for originating and managing fifteen mezzanine investments.
MNC Capital was a subsidiary of MNC Financial, Inc., a $16 billion regional bank holding company headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland.
On the secondary purchase of the MNC Capital portfolio by Sherry Lane Partners, L.P.
in 1991, he became the managing general partner responsible for the realization of its investments.
Prior to founding MNC Capital, he was with MNC Financial from 1980 to 1991, initially as Chief Credit Officer for its non-bank lending subsidiaries and responsible for approval and oversight of approximately $200 million of commercial loans and leases.
He began his career with The Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A.
in New York where he spent ten years as a commercial lender.
Mr. Kayler earned his MBA in Management and Finance at the Indiana University School of Business and his BA in Economics at DePauw University.
