Jerome L. Katz

Mr. Katz co-founded the LBO oriented private equity firm Charterhouse Group International in 1973 and served as President and Co-Chief Executive Officer from 1984-1996.
Today the firm manages in excess of $1 billion for institutional investors.
During Mr. Katz’s tenure, Charterhouse made 60 investments and realized 45.
The IRR on the realized investments was 67.2%.
Investments made during his tenure and realized subsequent to 1996 continued to provide superior returns.
Mr. Katz was a member of the Board of Directors and Investment Committee.
He also served on boards and board committees of Charterhouse portfolio companies, both public and private.
Mr. Katz played a major role in raising two of Charterhouse’s private equity funds.
Before helping to establish Charterhouse, Mr. Katz spent five years in investment banking, first at H.
Hints & Company and later at Laden burg, Thurman & Co., Inc. Prior to that time, he spent ten years in various financial positions at McKinsey & Co., General Foods Corp., Martin Marietta Corp.
and New England Industries.
Mr. Katz holds a B.S.
from Ohio State University, an M.B.A.
from New York University and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration.
He serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council at Fisher College of Business of Ohio State University, is Vice-Chairman of the Jewish Museum’s Council and is a member of the Finance Committee of East End Hospice, a terminal care organization in Westhampton Beach, NY.
