Lay Choo Lim

Ms Lay Choo Lim was appointed Group Counsel for Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group on 1st January 2003.
She is also an Executive Director of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group International Limited.
Ms Lim joined the Group in January 2001.
In her role as Group Counsel, Ms Lim is responsible for overseeing all legal services for the Group’s development and operational activities, which include major contractual matters, trademarks as well as litigation.
Ms Lim has extensive hotel legal experience.
She has practised as a corporate commercial lawyer for 25 years in Hong Kong, London, Beijing, Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur and Wellington.
Prior to joining the Group, she was the principal of L.C.
Lim & Company, a general corporate and commercial law practice, specializing in the hospitality industry.
Before establishing her own practice, she served as Vice President-General Counsel for Bass Hotels & Resorts, Asia Pacific.
Ms Lim is an Australian national.
She is a graduate of the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand.
She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in Hong Kong.
