Melissa Obegi

Ms. Melissa Obegi relocated to Oaktree's Hong Kong office as Managing Director and Asia Regional Counsel in 2006.
Ms. Melissa Obegi had worked for four years at Oaktree headquarters, most recently as Managing Director and Associate General Counsel.
Prior to joining Oaktree in 2002, Ms. Melissa Obegi worked for the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, most recently as Associate General Counsel, Investment Funds, responsible for its portfolio of private equity funds in Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Russia, the Middle East and Africa.
Her work included project financings, loan restructurings, political risk insurance, and bilateral government negotiations.
Prior thereto, Ms. Melissa Obegi was an Associate in the International Banking Group of the law firm Coudert Brothers, working in their New York and San Francisco offices.
Ms. Melissa Obegi graduated magna cum laude with a B.S.F.S.
degree in International Politics from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and received a J.D.
from University of California at Los Angeles School of Law, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif.
Ms. Melissa Obegi speaks French and Portuguese.
