Ltd. in 1988 through a joint venture between The Bank of East Asia of Hong Kong (BEA) (owns 51%) and Union Asset Management Holding AG of Germany (Union Investment) (owns 49%). The current structure was established in 2007 and is the investment management hub in Asia for both BEA and Union Investment. BEA Union Investment offers comprehensive investment solutions to retail, institutional and pension clients.

The firm was founded in 1993 by Francis Tjia and Emil Nguy and is wholly-owned by the founders and partners.
