The Pharmaceutical Care Management Association is a national association that represents pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) in America. The non-profit company is based in Washington. The association provides services to patients, health plans, insurers, state and federal governments, and drug manufacturers. The Rx Research Corner is a blog written by the Research Team at PCMA, which covers topics related to the PBM and prescription drug space, ranging from pricing to policies and patient issues such as access and equity. The association's groundbreaking research by University of Chicago Economics Professor Casey Mulligan estimates that PBMs create $145 billion in value annually. Some of the association's members include CVS Health, Optum Rx, Evolve Pharmacy Solutions, Cigna Pharmacy Management, and more. PBMs are working to improve the lives of patients living with diabetes and their families by reducing insulin costs.
