Mr.Onkey joined Sunrise in August 2009 as a Managing Director, responsible for trading the shipping and aircraft sectors, as well as non-residential ABS product.
Prior to joining Sunrise, Mr.Onkey worked at UBS from 2006-2009 where he was the head of the ABS syndicate desk.
In addition to managing all ABS new issues, Mr.Onkey also traded the student loan ABS secondary book.
For his last eight months at UBS,Mr.Onkey was part of the asset disposition team charged with liquidating the firm’s ABS/MBS assets as UBS exited the business by July 2009.
Previously Mr.Onkey worked on the ABS syndicate desk at Morgan Stanley from 2001-2006, the last 3 years as the head of the desk.
Mr.Onkey holds an MBA from MIT-Sloan with a focus in financial engineering, and a BS in mathematics, magna cum laude, from Davidson College.
