Prior to joining First Key, he was a senior underwriter in the CRE Group of Dillon Read Capital Management/UBS, Chase Bank, Deutsche Bank where his responsibilities included originating, underwriting, closing and securitizing fixed rate, floating rate and mezzanine loans.
Previously, he was an asset manager for UBS Asset Management and oversaw a diversified real estate portfolio for an overseas investor.
He started his career as an accountant at EY/Kenneth Leventhal.
Mr. Philipps received a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Ithaca College.
He is a Certified Public Accountant.
