Allan Gray (Pty) Ltd. is the investment management subsidiary of Orbis Allan Gray Ltd., itself a subsidiary of Allan & Gill Gray Foundation in South Africa. The firm is headquartered in Cape Town and has offices across Africa and an affiliate office in Australia. Founded in 1973, Allan Gray manages segregated portfolios, pooled portfolios and unit trust funds which includes their flagship long-term unit trust – Allan Gray Balanced Fund for a range of clients such as institutions, individuals, insurance companies, trusts and foundations. The firm support the principles espoused by the Code for Responsible Investing in South Africa (CRISA) and is a signatory to the United Nations endorsed Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI).

Allan Gray Unit Trust Management (RF) (PTY) Ltd. (Allan Gray UTM) is the South Africa-based asset management subsidiary of Orbis Holdings Ltd. in Bermuda. Established in 1974, the firm is based in Cape Town, with additional offices throughout South Africa. They are a Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment contributor which manages mutual funds and segregated accounts for institutional clients including pension funds, medical aid schemes and endowments, as well as for private individuals. They are a socially responsible investor which supports the principles proposed by the Code for Responsible Investing in South Africa (CRISA) and works in partnership with Bermuda-based Orbis Investment Management Ltd., which manages offshore equity mutual funds. The firms share the same investment philosophy and were both founded by Allan W B Gray.
