Samuel Chao

Samuel is a Managing Director and joined Welkin in 2021.
He is a member of the firm's Value Creation committee.
He has over 12 years of management, capital markets and private investment experience across precision manufacturing, consumer and real estate sectors.
Before Welkin, he was a board member of Novel Optics (SSE: 603297), where he led business development, government relations and IPO preparations, and an executive director of Yichang (Shanghai) Management Limited, where he led commercial property leasing.
He is currently Vice Chairman of Novel Optics.
Samuel received of Bachelor of Laws degree from Tsinghua University.
He is an Honorary Resident of Ningbo City, Vice Chairman of Ningbo Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Standing Committee Member of Ningbo Youth Federation, and Executive Vice Chairman of Ningbo Chamber of Overseas Chinese Businessmen.
