Building Bridges Across The River, Inc. was founded in 1997 and is based in Washington. TheARC Theater is the first theater in DC's Ward 8, created to provide DC residents living east of the Anacostia River with entertaining and enlightening experiences that can impact their lives and brighten their futures. The non-profit company focuses on various projects such as the 11th Street Bridge Park, TheARC Theater, Building Bridges Farms, Skyland Workforce Center, and more. The 11th Street Bridge Park is the first elevated park that spans the Anacostia River and serves as a new venue for healthy recreation, environmental education, and the arts. TheARC is a humanitarian mall that provides world-class services to the east of the Anacostia River community in DC. Building Bridges Farms provides southeast communities with greater access to healthy, affordable food, urban agriculture education, and career opportunities via activities within TheARC Farm and six Bridge Park plots. Skyland Workforce Center provides high-quality workforce development programs in one location, leading to work-ready candidates, career-focused job placement, economic self-sufficiency, and improved quality of life.
